Finding Joy
Life as a working mom of the millennial generation can be a strange experience. Sometimes I still feel like a teenager myself. I still know every word to my favorite old school hip hop tracks, have an ongoing text chain with all my high school friends and love a great night out.
Yet, I am in my 40s. My 40s! And sometimes the grind of life can bring me down. But every so often I have a moment of pure joy that strikes when I hear a song, laugh to the point of crying, make it through a boot camp work out or have my heart swell from a touching story.
Sharing Joy
It occurred to me that there are so many women of my generation that are navigating through this phase of life in need of a good laugh, cry, or moment of escape.
Hope that we are still vibrant and attractive. Hope that we are still cool despite what our kids may say. Hope that whether we want to further our careers or stop them all together - that it will be ok. For me, hope springs from joy. And if you are like me, maybe the joy I find will also bring you joy - even if for only a moment - or inspire you to find the joy in your day. And sometimes joy can be found in the most unexpected places.
